Titley Lunch

Once again, we have arranged our Club lunch at the Village Hall, Titley.  The date for your diaries is SUNDAY, 4TH NOVEMBER, 2012.


 

Forms are available on the web and also from Jennifer Kelley in the hall this evening. 

 

Please make your selections from the menu and return your forms together with a cheque (payable to Orleton & District Gardening Club) to Jennifer either at this month's meeting or before Tuesday, 23rd October at the latest.  Jennifer Kelley, 2 Ashley Walk, Orleton, Ludlow, SY8 4HD.

 

“Let's Grow” - Morrison Vouchers

From now until 28th October 2012, Morrison’s Supermarkets are issuing

“Let's Grow” vouchers. 
For every £10 you spend in-store, you'll receive a voucher which schools can collect and redeem for brand new gardening equipment, including seeds, spades and greenhouses.

 

If you are not already supporting a school by saving your vouchers, please collect as many vouchers as possible and hand them in to one of the Gardening Club committee members and we will ensure they are passed on to Orleton School.  Vouchers should be handed in by the October meeting or ensure they reach a committee member by 8th November latest.

 

Refreshments Rota

We need more volunteers for preparing the tea/coffee after each meeting.  The rota will be circulated this evening.  Please sign!

RHS Membership offer

The RHS has offered a reduction of 30 percent in the cost of membership for the first year, for members of an affiliated society/club, plus a £5 voucher to spend in an RHS plant centre or shop, plus £5 to our Club.  This offer is open until the end of January 2013. 

Payment must be by direct debit.                                                                                                                RHS Harlow Carr

Individual membership is £35.70
 Joint membership (adults at the same address) is £51

 

Benefits of membership - unlimited free visits to 80 gardens all the year, personalised gardening advice and a monthly copy of the RHS magazine "The Garden".  Also you are allowed free entrance with a family guest to RHS gardens.

Discounted fees for shows and courses are also available.

Thompson & Morgan Catalogues

T&M Catalogues available tonight with discount increased to 55% for seeds and remaining at 15% for everything else, including Chempak products.  Please read carefully the notes attached to the catalogues and hand the orders into the Club,
do not send them direct to T&M.

 

The first order will be sent in at the end of October, with further orders placed as and when they reach more than £25

 

Brimfield Gardening Club, a special meeting with Toby Buckland

Brimfield Gardening Club is holding a special meeting on Monday 19th November when the guest speaker will be Toby Buckland.  

 

The subject will be ‘Keeping a succession of flowering in your garden all year round’. 

 

He will be bringing his latest book and will also have plants from his nursery for sale.
