- Also on the website is the form for our visit to Hergest Croft on the 3rd September. This must be completed and returned by the 30th July.
Plant sale – 19th May:
A successful plant sale means the more we can spend on speakers so can we ask for more plants, flower and vegetable, cuttings and divided plants. It is also a good opportunity to advertise our skills and talents to the local community and entice others to join.
This year we would like to try including gardening tools on our bric-a-brac table. If you have any redundant items, but in good working condition, could you bring them along on club night or on the day.
Also this year we will be providing a tool sharpening service for garden tools, knives and scissors.
Secondly we need volunteers on the day to help set up the hall, put up and price the plants and sell during the afternoon. Crib sheets will be provided to help price plants up for sale.
Volunteers will be needed from 11.00 am on the 19th. Please see Monica on the sales table at the back of the hall if you are able to help.
Anyone needing help sending plants to the sale could they please contact a member of the committee or if you wish you can deliver them to the drive of Christine and John Berry’s home at Berrybrook, Millbrook Way, Orleton.
Also Di Howell-Thomas is looking for volunteers help with the teas on the day. Unfortunately Di won’t be in the Hall tonight so please let a committee members know if you are able to help.
39th Annual Show:
Last year’s Show was one of the most successful shows we have had, but with all our new members we can surely improve on this.
The Schedule is on our website, with copies available in the Village Shop. In the Schedule there are full instructions on how to place your exhibits but, if in doubt, have a word with your Show sub-committee – Gill Macefield, Marjan Bartlett-Freriks, Mel Flory and Monica Todd.
We also need Stewards on the day, please let Monica know if you are able to help.
The club has been donated a compost bin to sell, which is unfortunately a little large to bring along to club night but please see the photo on the notice board and make an offer!
Nick Bailey tickets:
Tickets, at the members’ price of £6, are on sale this evening and then at the Plant Sale. At this time guest tickets will also be available at the cost of £12. From Monday, 21st May, the tickets will only be available, at the cost of £12 to everyone, from Orleton Village Shop.
Things to do, places to visit:
Saturday, 1st June – Beardless Iris Day 2019 being held at Hopelands, Weobley. This is NOT an open visit, it is a day of talks and a visit to the Farm. Please see notice at back of hall for more details
