As all the restrictions are cancelled as of the 19th July, we are going ahead with the programme as outlined in our June update.
We will, therefore, be opening the doors (and windows if they do!) on the 27th July with our talk by Kevin Alviti on “Unusual fruit and vegetables to grow”, starting at 8.00 pm.
As this will be our first meeting back in the Hall since February 2020 and as some of us may still be a little uncertain about being in the Hall, although there is no need for masks to be worn, we are very happy for you to do so if you wish.
We will lay the Hall out with extra space between the chairs and we are very happy if you wish to move them around.
Also, as this is our first meeting, we have decided not to offer any refreshments but please feel free to bring your own.
Your committee hopes you feel able to attend and are looking forward to seeing you all again.
Our plant sale on the June club night was a great success and many thanks to all those who donated plants for the sale.
Your committee has decided that holding the sale outside (weather permitting!) is a much better location as visitors were able to walk along the whole row of tables!

14th August – Annual Show:
Although a year late, this will be our 40th annual show!
The schedule has been on the website for some time now so I am sure you will have noticed that we have removed, for this year only, some of the classes. We are concentrating on the classes that qualify for the Banksian medal plus Floral Art.
This year we are not providing afternoon tea and therefore Floral Art will be in the small hall so get your creative hats on as there will be plenty of space!
Section A – Vegetables, Section B – Cut flowers and Section C – potted plants will be in the main hall and Section H outside as normal.
Even if you don’t have anything to enter, please come and visit and stay for the presentation of Trophies and raffle.
If anyone still has a trophy from the 2019 show, please could you bring it along to the July meeting, cleaned or alternatively return it to Monica at Arrow Heights, Leominster.
There will also be a plant and produce sale so all donations gratefully received!
We have been invited to re-book our Club outing to the new RHS gardens now that they are open. We have requested the second half of June next year as this will give the gardens a little time to mature and settle in and it will also give us a longer day for the adventure!
Whilst the last 16 months have not been that onerous in terms of work load, we could do with one or two new committee members. We only have 7 committee members and to hold our meetings we need to have 5 committee members at a meeting, two of which must be officers.
Don’t worry we are not going to overload you with work but we do need some names on the list!
Please see Nick or Monica if you are interested in joining us. We hold our meetings (normally) on the Monday of the week before club night at one or other of the committee member’s home.
