Plant sale – 19th May:
Now is the time to starting thinking about sowing seeds, splitting plants, taking cutting but definitely about growing for our plant sale. Holding our Plant Sales allows us to book a Celebrity speaker and we already have someone in mind for 2020 so all donations gratefully received.
This year we have decided to include gardening tools on our bric-a-brac stall so start thinking about clearing out your shed or garage.
We are also looking for old plant pots, preferably one litre or larger but any size welcome, so that we can start potting up! So please have a clear out and bring them along on Club night, if that isn’t possible, collection can be arranged or deliver them to Christine Berry, Berrybrook, Millbrook Way, Orleton and leave them by the garage.
Also old plant labels – if they have only be written on in pencil – as these can be cleaned and reused, so think before using a permanent marker pen!
39th Annual Show:
You should now be starting to think of your entries for our annual show on the 17th August. We have reinstated the “Beginners only” in Floral Art and the title is “Country Lane”. This is aimed at anyone who hasn’t won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any previous ODGC show. Click here to download the Schedule. Printed Schedules are available on club nights or from Orleton Village Shop.
Nick Bailey tickets:
Tickets, at the members’ price of £6, will only be on sale at the March and April meeting and at the Plant Sale. At this time guest tickets will also be available at the cost of £12. From Monday, 21st May, the tickets will only be available, at the cost of £12 to everyone, from Orleton Village Shop.
Outing – 28th May:
The form for the outing to The Laskett Gardens is now available together with a map to show exactly where it is, just off the A49 between Hereford and Ross. Click here for all the information. We have also arranged lunch at the Cottage of Content, details nearer the time but you need to register your interest in lunch – see the form.
When paying for membership, outings, tickets, etc., cheques must be made payable to Orleton and District Gardening Club or ODGC. The Bank will only accept either of these titles.
Also, in order to avoid confusion, we do require a separate cheque for each event.
