The history of mistletoe
Mistletoe is the common name for obligate hemiparasitic plants which attach themselves to a host tree or shrub by a structure called the haustorium, through which they extract water and nutrients. Much myth, fable and folklore surround the seasonally-decorative, white-berried greenery but what of its history?
