Meeting: July 30th
July’s club night was planned to be a tour of 7 gardens in and around Orleton, followed by a ‘bring and share’ supper. However, much to everyone’s disappointment, ‘rain stopped play’ and we reverted to ‘Plan b’, a gardening themed quiz in the village hall. A fun and sociable evening ensued, with much debate and wracking of brains over the quiz. The ‘bring and share’ supper was, as usual, a smorgasbord of wonderful dishes and from the evidence of empty plates, appeared to be enjoyed by everyone.
Three of the gardens were kindly opened by their owners the following day. All the gardens had been well watered by the previous evening’s rain!
Many thanks to all those brave gardeners who volunteered to open their gardens. Hopefully, in future years the weather will be more cooperative.
