Robin ran a wholesale and retail nursery for the last 20 years, he has now recently retired to spend more time in his own garden. The nursery grew a very extensive range of herbaceous perennials, ornamental grasses and hardy ferns, including many rare and unusual plants. Most of the plants produced were propagated on the nursery.

Together with his wife Kristina, Robin collected several hundred ornamental grasses and ferns for their garden at Worlds End Nurseries.

Robin is Chairman of the RHS Herbaceous Committee, a RHS Floral Judge, a Council Member of the Three Counties Agricultural Society and a member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture.

Robin’s talk will explain how there is a place for hardy ferns in every garden adding structure and interest throughout the year. It will explain how to grow them and suggest the best plants for both damp and dry situations. Robin will also recommend other shade loving plants to compliment the hardy ferns.
