Our speaker this month is Nancy Lowe on the subject of “Wildlife gardening”

THANKS:

To Marjan Bartlett-Freriks and Helen Wooley for organising the refreshments this month and also to those members helping set up and clear away the hall.

The refreshment rota for 2026 will be circulating tonight.  Whilst I appreciate you may not yet be able to commit for later in the year, we do really need volunteers for the start of the year, especially January.  Please see Diane Russell if you are able to help.

9th DECEMBER – DINNER at The Riverside, Aymestrey:

Tonight is the last chance to book for the dinner.  Please hand in your menu choice to Monica and pay by BACS in advance or card or cash tonight.

The menu and booking form are now available on the website: link: Dinner menu and form

SEED ORDERS:

There is still time to place seed orders for Marshalls.  Order forms and catalogues available tonight, although there is a much greater selection on both Marshalls and Unwin’s websites.

The discount on seeds remains at 50% and is 15% on everything else.  There are also discounts on bulk delivery of composts etc.

The same as last year the orders will be delivered to me, but potatoes are sent direct to your home address in the New Year.  Because of this they are adding £1.50 to each order to be individually packed.

MEMBERS’ DETAILS:

It has become apparent over the last couple of months that some members have changed their phone numbers and addresses and some aren’t getting the Newsletter because they have changed their email address.  Please let Monica know if this applies to you!

2026 PROGRAMME:

The full programme will be available on our website in the next few days, Stephen is still awaiting details from one speaker, fortunately she is the November one!

The new year starts with our January meeting – 27th January – when the speaker will be Tamsin Westthorpe on “Understanding the RHS Chelsea Flower Show judging process”

January is also our membership renewal month.  The membership fee remains at £15 and payment can be made by BACS payment by the 24th January, by card payment on the night and, least preferable, by cash on the night.

GOODS FOR SALE:

Gloves and vermiculite is for sale each month and gloves make a very good Christmas present!

CLUB NIGHT RAFFLE:

There is always a good selection of prizes in our raffle – some of which are donated – and the proceeds of which goes toward our costs – speakers, village hall rent and of course, your free refreshments!
