Orleton and District Gardening Club staged its 40th annual Show at Orleton Village Hall on Saturday August 14th.   Staging of exhibits took place between 9 and 10.45am and judging between 11 and 1pm.  Doors opened to visitors at 1.30pm.

Sections containing several classes in each were offered for vegetables, cut flowers, pot plants, floral art and outdoor containers.  Unfortunately, due to the pandemic the club was unable to offer its usual classes for preserves, cookery, honey and homemade drinks this year.  Despite this there were plenty of entries and when the doors opened to visitors they were greeted with a colourful array and wide variety of flowers and vegetables, a testament to the members’ artistry and industry.

The club was delighted to welcome back its three judges after last year’s cancellations and was most grateful for their careful deliberations and helpful comments.  The raffle was drawn at 3pm followed by the presentation of trophies including the RHS Banksian Medal.

ODGC would like to thank the judges, exhibitors, members, visitors and all who helped to make its 40th anniversary show such a success.
